The curator of the seventh Idiom of Malta Festival Poznan is Lotte van den Berg. The Dutch director has invited young artists, who in various ways give their interpretations of the themes observation and participation.
Lotte van den Berg will be visiting Poland for the first time. The Malta audience will have the opportunity to see one of the most important plays in her body of work – “Wasteland”, inspired by the prose of J. M. Coetzee, as well as the eight-day cycle “Building conversations” – a singular artistic and social project, which the artist has been developing over several years. The viewers become active participants – the actors and directors of a series of conversations, which – not unlike in Socratic dialogues – are characterised by freedom, lack of hierarchy and common striving to discover common ground.
The programme will also feature the screenings of plays and site-specific actions by Lotte van den Berg and films selected by her.
The 26th edition of Malta Festival Poznan will take place between 17 and 28 June.
