Platform-Scenography wins Best Curatorial Concept Award at PQ 15
Platform-Scenography (P-S) was awarded the Golden medal for Best Curatorial Concept at the Prague Quadrennial – the world exhibition for Scenography, Space and Performance Design. Dutch Performing Arts supported the project and we congratulate Platform-Scenography and the Curatorial team of Between Realities with their prize!
The Platform took the lead this year in designing the Dutch contribution. Whereas most countries give shape to a fixed pavilion, P-S developed the mobile research project Between Realities, in which several artists, designers and reporters join. Between Realities is an alternative form of performance design that reacts directly on the city (Prague) and in return is effected by that surrounding. It analyses how in public space different realities exist, and how they are staged, designed, performed, altered. Through a process of intervening, observing, reporting and publishing, different strategies that are used in public space are ‘mapped’. This ‘map’ is growing throughout the still ongoing PQ and beyond, and can be explored at: www.betweenrealities.nl.
