Updated: professionals' programmes for dance and (music) theatre presenters in 2020

Throughout 2020 Dutch Performing Arts collaborates with renowned Dutch festivals for the organisation of professionals' programmes. At the invitation of the organising festival, international dance and (music) theatre presenters take part in a tailor-made programme. They will experience (new) Dutch work, meet Netherlands-based artists and companies, and attend pitch sessions and networking events.
COVID-19 update:
The organising festivals closely monitor the developments concerning the coronavirus and how these impact international travel and the organisation of events. The festivals and professionals' programmes listed below are tentative. Some of the festivals encourage you to keep the festival dates marked in your calendar and to await further updates.

SPRING Performing Arts Festival - 14-23 May 2020
Instead of a live edition in Utrecht, SPRING will be hosting the digital edition SPRING on Screen, showcasing work by festivals artists made for the (video)screen. For more info, visit this page.

The festival does not host a professionals' programme this year.

Currently on hold: DAS Theatre master presentations - Amsterdam
DAS Theatre is a full-time, two-year residential programme of the Academy of Theatre and Dance. The Academy is the Netherlands’ premier training school for all theatre and dance disciplines at bachelor and master’s degree level.
The presentations by DAS Theatre graduates at the master's level are currently on hold, as is the professionals' programme. Updates are to be announced. Are you interested in attending the presentations? Please contact Maaike Boot via maaike.boot@ahk.nl for more information.

Dutch Dance Festival - 1-8 October 2020, Maastricht
Dutch Dance Festival will not be hosting a live edition in Maastricht this year. The organisation is working on an online edition.
Remarkable performances from up-and-coming choreographers as well as established dance companies. International delegates will see premieres from remarkable choreographers, followed by a selection of the best performances of this season.

Cancelled: Moving Futures - Amsterdam
Traveling festival that presents works of emerging choreographers.

Cancelled: Pop Arts Festival - Amsterdam
International festival that presents a wide range of puppet and object theatre from the Netherlands and abroad, organised by Theater Bellevue, Theater De Krakeling, De Brakke Grond and Feikes Huis.

Cancelled: Operadagen Rotterdam - Rotterdam
International opera and music theatre festival featuring contemporary, innovative, and ground-breaking productions by established international makers as well as young and adventurous talent. The professionals' programme introduces (new) Dutch work, musicians and companies to international presenters.

Cancelled: Holland Festival - Amsterdam
International performing arts festival, offering performances and concerts from all over the world. The festival features established names as well as new talent, showcasing innovation in art and exploring new types of venue and forms of theatre.
Holland Festival will not be hosting a live edition in Amsterdam this year. The organisation is working on an online festival, to be held in June 2020 still

Cancelled: Oerol - Terschelling
Landscape arts festivals on the island of Terschelling in the Wadden Sea. The island is transformed into a unique natural stage for site-specific theatre, dance, art installations and music.
Oerol will not be hosting a live edition on Terschelling this year. The organisation is working on an alternative festival format for this summer, to be held 12-21 June.

Cancelled: Julidans - Amsterdam
Annual festival showing bold performances by icons of contemporay dance and by great transformers of this moment.

Cancelled: Theaterfestival Boulevard - ‘s-Hertogenbosch
Theaterfestival Boulevard offers an adventurous and varied programme of theatre, dance and music theatre, with performing artists from the Netherlands and Flanders (the northern part of Belgium), plus international directors and choreographers.
Next edition: 5-15 August 2021

Currently on hold: De Krakeling Festival - 9-18 October, Amsterdam
Festival The Enchantment - 16-24 October 2020, The Hague
Two children's arts festivals join forces for the organisation of a professionals' programme in October.
The Krakeling Festival takes place throughout Amsterdam and shares a taste of the most beautiful and best productions for young audiences. De Krakeling Festival stands for high quality programming, new talent, diversity, and international programming and exchange. International children's arts festival De Betovering takes place in The Hague. Over the course of nine days, the festival presents enchanting children’s productions from the Netherlands and abroad, including theatre shows as well as dance, music and film. Together the two festivals host a four-day professionals' programme in Amsterdam and The Hague.
The professionals' programme hosted jointly by the festivals is currently on hold. Updates are to be announced.
