Team Dutch Performing Arts wishes you happy holidays!
In this newsletter we share a preview of exciting Dutch music, theatre and dance in early 2020.
Four Netherlands-based groups present their forward-thinking music at Winter Jazzfest in New York. Tineke Postma Freya, Tin Men and the Telephone, Niels Broos & Jamie Peet, and Binkbeats are part of a showcase titled 'Sounds of the Dutch Underground' on 12 January — a co-production of Dutch Performing Arts, Good Music Company and Winter Jazzfest, supported by Buma Cultuur and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New York.
We're still accepting proposals from (representatives of) Netherlands-based artists who want to visit TPAM in February to promote, do research and/or network for their theatre or dance company. TPAM (Performing Arts Meeting Yokohama) is one of the most influential performing arts platforms in Asia.
As part of our collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo, we can offer five performing arts professionals a contribution of €1,500 per person for costs of travel and accommodation.
Music theatre company Oorkaan gives five performances of their award-winning production 'Glimpse' at the Kennedy Center on 11 & 12 January. Dutch Performing Arts and the Kennedy Center collaborate on a season-long Dutch focus, bringing accomplished work from the Netherlands to families and student audiences in Washington. The shows are also part of the multidisciplinary programme Never Grow Up!, showcasing Dutch film, literature and performing arts for young audiences in 2019-2020.
The wave of Dutch theatre for young audiences continues at IPAY Showcase in Philadelphia. Dutch Performing Arts proudly powers two Dutch companies who are part of off-IPAY Showcase 2020: Wonderland Collective and Malou van Sluis. IPAY Showcase takes place from 21-25 January. The Dutch performances are also part of the Never Grow Up! programme.
